The Portfolio Investing team’s focus is to identify and support a portfolio of organizations demonstrating outstanding performance in four key areas: impact, equity and proximity, leadership, and sustainability. Our role is to identify the most promising social entrepreneurs and organizations for investment, ensure that we are providing them with excellent capacity building support, and develop and continually refine a set of tools and processes that support our grantees and the portfolio team in capturing their progress and our value add.
This position will be a key member of the education team, and will focus on a range of critical activities related to event management, parent power, and investment selection. The associate/senior associate will serve as the event manager for the Widespread Impact Community of Practice, which is part of our Equitable Education Recovery Initiative. Through the Widespread Impact Community of Practice, we will support larger organizations to enact widespread impact strategies through which they are attempting to support the broad adoption of evidence-based effective practices through tools, training and/or technical assistance. The associate/senior associate will also provide support on the Education team’s work to lift up and center the voices of parents in our work, and will also serve on diligence teams to assess pipeline organizations for potential fit within our portfolio. The associate/senior associate reports to New Profit Managing Partner Shruti Sehra.
