LOCATION:   DC Metro Area, preferably Baltimore, Maryland (Mostly remote for Summer 2024)

NEW PROFIT SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
New Profit encourages you to consider an internship with us if you are interested in contributing to and learning about the inner workings of an innovative, equity-centered, national venture philanthropy organization. We have loved the influence, support, and energy of our interns over the years and are excited to select and welcome another cohort! Our internships are placed in various parts of our organization, but each opportunity offers exposure to an aspect of program, external affairs, or operational management to help you develop skills, knowledge, and relationships that ideally aid your career path. Our summer internship program will be 20-30 hours per week and will go from June 3rd to August 30th. Each selected participants salary will be based on experience and it is non-negotiable. POSITION DESCRIPTION
New Profit is excited to bring back The Well for our community of social entrepreneurs, ecosystem builders, philanthropists, and other social impact leaders November 11 - 13, 2024 in Baltimore, MD. The Well is a space where we come together to make sense of the moment we are in and reimagine our shared future. Whether it’s improving learning outcomes, strengthening civic engagement, or advancing economic mobility, our work requires us to step up to the M.I.C.™—our multiracial, intergenerational, cross-sector coalition. We will create spaces and opportunities that bring communities of different identities together to work, design, repair, and build with one another. 

As a Summer Intern with The Well team, you will gain hands-on experience in and exposure to an entrepreneurial nonprofit organization and the field of venture philanthropy.  We are looking for this individual to:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Join our event team that is — in partnership with our event vendor VIVA — planning and executing this Assist us with invitation management and participant registration, including special requests, hotel needs, 
• Co-design support - Joining our co-design meetings, when possible for note taking, recaps/overviews, etc.
• Help coordinate our Emerging Leaders program - a cohort of young people (likely to be  predominantly  Baltimore-based) who have demonstrated leadership potential in the areas of advocacy, organizing, intergenerational movement-building and storytelling.
• Responsibilities  will include assistance with application and acceptance communication and management, and possibly running one online cohort gathering during the course of the internship

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Excellent written communication skills
• Creative thinker
• Detail orientation and organizing skills, time management
• Strong research and analytical skills, 
• Experience with Google Suite, especially Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms. Canva experience is helpful too. Able to pivot as event priorities change, new speakers added, etc.
• Available 20-30 hrs per week, and can put in a full day on Wednesday when our key team meetings often take pace.
• Available to work 20-30 hours per week between June 3rd to August 30 (Note - New Profit will be closed for our Summer Rejuvenation Break  July 1 - July 10, 2024, so there will be no work during that time)
• Ideally hoping for a candidate in the Baltimore or DMV area, so that you can help us ideate on all things Baltimore for the best guest experience, and so that you can perhaps attend the event in the fall (if you are available) to experience the fruits of your labor. If needed, we can arrange for you to possibly work in our DC office from time to time (possible? Need to run by AF?)
