INVESTOR RELATIONS 

At its most fundamental level, the Investor Relations team exists to ensure the financial sustainability of New Profit, by managing the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of philanthropic investors within the New Profit community. We build and maintain partnerships with New Profit's individual, corporate, and foundation supporters and are proud to identify and create a network of engaged philanthropists who add meaningful contribution to – and, in return, benefit from - New Profit’s broader community of social entrepreneurs, policymakers, and thought leaders. We use New Profit’s platform to identify and work with investors who are motivated by the practice of equitable grantmaking, with an emphasis on building relationships across lines of difference in service of New Profit's multiracial, intergenerational, cross-sector coalition (The MIC™).

POSITION OVERVIEW

New Profit is looking for a thoughtful, organized, and collaborative individual to join our Investor Relations team and support our annual individual giving goals. If you're the kind of person who loves connecting dots, diving into research rabbit holes, and uncovering stories behind people and their giving, this role offers a front-row seat to high-impact philanthropy in action.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prospect Research (60%)

  • Assist with internal management of fundraising priorities by identifying potential funders, conducting donor and prospect research, and recommending next steps for new pitches. Support with the preparation of materials for external meetings as needed
  • Leverage donor research tools to uncover donor interests, values, and philanthropic history through thoughtful, investigative analysis and a keen eye for patterns and alignment
 

Donor Data Management and Appreciation (30%)

  • Maintain data integrity within Salesforce, including campaign setup, ongoing updates, and accurate tracking of donor interactions
  • Support with IR-related events and conference logistics  as needed, including on-site support, guest research, tracking and maintaining event invite lists and RSVPs, post-event appreciation and communication
  • Support funder communication and donor appreciation efforts, including writing and mailing handwritten notes as needed (holiday cards, etc.)
 

Internal IR Team Operations (10%)

  • Coordinate across the IR operations team to capture updates for org-wide reporting
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather and synthesize content from various teams for the monthly IR Digest and other internal communications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 0–4 years of experience, ideally in a development or fundraising office, or in a role with comparable research and analysis responsibilities
  • Alignment with and commitment to New Profit’s mission 
  • Action-oriented-, able to use your superior organizational skills to manage up, juggle changing priorities, and drive towards deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator- keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality work 
  • Strong learning orientation- ability to learn and grow from mistakes and have the desire to constantly improve
  • Sharp analytical skills- quickly assess situations, identify trends, develop insights and solutions, and apply learnings to a larger context
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a dynamic, evolving structure as new team members and systems are added
  • Command of Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Comfort with moves management tracking system (Salesforce preferred) 
  • Comfort with DonorSearch or other comparable prospect research software is a plus
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as needed 
 

SALARY

The salary range for the Associate position will be $72,074 - $78,826 annually, with the exact salary depending on prior work experience and the assessment of one's fit for the role. Additionally, New Profit provides a suite of competitive benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, and a generous PTO policy with an end-of-year holiday break.
